Saint George in Mathia

Northeast of the village Mathia lies the church of St. George, a single – aisled arched church with arches and frescoes, for the construction of which local stone was used. The only entrance to the church is on the western wall between two pilasters made by carved limestone while the lintel is decorated with a cross inscribed in a circle. Among the many depictions of the murals, you can see the Prayer in the recess of the Sanctuary. Unfortunately, the frescoes of the temple have not survived in a good condition.
