Description of the route

This is a relatively long motor route that starts from Arkalochori (1) and its first stop is at the picturesque village of Zida (2), located at an altitude of 490 meters near the ridge of the hills which are the western border of the Arkalochori plain. From Zida head north towards the nearby village of Patsideros (3) where you can visit the Byzantine church of Virgin Mary and the ruins of the historic primary school which operated during the period of Turkish rule. From Patsideros move west along the dirt road through olive groves and vineyards until you reach the village of Stironas (4), where you can visit the traditional complex “Myragapi”.

Your next stop is south at the village of Panorama (5), which has been amphitheatrically built overlooking the whole valley. Following the provincial road you will reach Amourgelles (6) where you can make a stop at the dam (7) to admire nature and then move around towards the east and the dam of Partira (8). Near the dam lies the abandoned settlement of Mikri Episkopi, which used to be the old seat of the Diocese of Arcadia (9). Wander in the ruins and visit the Byzantine church of Christ the Savior. The final destination of your journey is Partira, where you can enjoy your coffee in the coffee house of the village and visit the rural crafts museum.
