Diavaide
The settlement Diavaide is 700 meters southeast of Kastelli. In the village we can see two Byzantine churches of the 14th century, Saint George Sfakiotis and Saint Nicholas. The village housed the High School of Kastelli during German Occupation and the Army forces established their headquarters there, providing repair of motor means and FLAK antiaircraft units. Today the residents of the village are engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry, as the plain where the village is situated is very fertile.
