The settlement of Favriana is located 54 kilometers from the city of Heraklion, at an altitude of 230 meters. According to the residents, during the German occupation this settlement used to be a passage for rebel groups towards Libyan sea, in order to be transferred to the headquarters of the Middle East.

The pretty little village of Favriana is an ideal destination for those wishing to explore the low mountain range of Asterousia. Here, you will find trails leading to the hill Housakas and the white church of Saint Paraskevi, which stands out in the wild, dry landscape, dominated by bushes and shrubs.
