Kardouliano
The village of Kardouliano is located at an altitude of 330m and it is just 1 km from Kastelli. According to the census of 1881, it belonged to the Municipality of Kastelli and its inhabitants are engaged in agriculture, producing mostly olive oil and grapes.
When you visit the village, it is worth seeing the small, vaulted church of Panagia Kera, located west of the village on the main road, opposite the modern oil olive factory. The beautiful frescoes of the vault date back to the 14th century and are now kept in the Historical Museum of Heraklion.
