Sakorrafios Public Library

The Sakorrafios Public Library is founded in 1962. It is named after Stylianos Sakorrafos, an expatriate from Kastelli in America, who donated the money.

The Library is in the center of the town, at Meidani. In 1974 Stylianos Sakorrafos died and with his will he covered the expenses for the equipment of the Library. Today 7,000 books, 700 issues of magazines and personal collections are available to the public. The lending section of the Library can give to the public all the necessary information about the available material and Internet access.

It presents remarkable activities, organizing summer campaigns for children and adolescents, to promote reading and creativity according to the program “Future Library”, supported by the Foundation “Stavros Niarchos”. The library is daily open from 07.30 am to 15.00 pm.
