Access to Municipality of Minoa Pediadas
Travellers from outside Crete who want to visit the Municipality of Minoa Pediados can reach the island in the following ways:
By plane: The island has airports in Heraklion and Chania. There are daily domestic flights to and from Athens, Thessaloniki, Rhodes and transfer flights to and from all airports of the country. There are also daily international flights and charter flights with an increased intensity during summer months. Apart from the two major airports in Heraklion and Chania, there is also the airport of Sitia, from where there are regular flights to and from Athens, Rhodes, Karpathos, etc.

By Ferry: The island has three major ports, the port of Heraklion, Souda and Rethymnon. Ships depart daily from and to Athens, weekly from and to Thessaloniki and there are frequent transport lines to the Aegean islands and Patra. There are also smaller ports in Aghios Nikolaos, Sitia, Ierapetra, Chania (Kasteli- Kissamos), from where there are trips to other nearby destinations.

By car: When arriving in Crete, tourists can visit the Municipality of Minoa Pediados by car via the Highway Heraklion – Viannos or using the public transport. Daily there are trips from and to Heraklion from all major cities of the other Prefectures of the island. Every day there are trips at regular intervals from the city of Heraklion to all settlements of the Municipality of Minoa Pediados.
