Cycling Tour of the Minoan Plain

In the 50s and 60s it was a common event to see hundreds of bicycles moving around the Minoan valley. Students, workers, even grooms used to move around in the fertile valley by bikes and soon this became quite a legend for the villages.
The Cycling Tour of the Minoan Plain has been organized for these five years by the Cultural Associations of the region and the Municipality of Minoa Pediados. The starting point is at the settlement of Apostoloi and the cyclists follow the route that passes through the villages of Sambas, Zofori, Voni, Thrapsano and finishes at the lake Livades.
