Kato (Lower) Kastelliana
In a short distance east of Ano Kastelliana lies the village Kato Kastelliana. In the area of Kato Kastelliana two medieval buildings were found. The first one is “Loutra”, a domed building which was actually a building of Roman baths and the other one on the east, the so called “Patitiria”, for the pressing of grapes and the collection of must.
In the modern settlement of Kato Kastelliana, there are two beautiful churches worth visiting: the small patron church of Saint Marina east of the village and the great temple of Virgin Mary, built west of the main road. The latter was built in 1912, when the beautiful stone fountain was also built in the small square, in the southwestern part of the village.
